Wix SEO automation with one snippet in Custom Code

Updated ยท By the SEOAmazing team

Yes, SEOAmazing works on Wix. You add one script tag through Settings > Custom Code, place it in the Head, and apply it to all pages. SEOAmazing then crawls your site, drafts fixes for titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text and schema, and applies only what you approve, without editing your Wix site.

Why on-page SEO gets hard on a growing Wix site

Wix gives every page its own SEO settings in the editor. That works well for a five-page site. It gets slow once you add a blog, a store, service pages and location pages. Each one needs its own title, description and heading, and each one is edited by hand in its own panel.

Page-type patterns help with consistency, but a pattern fills in the same shape for every item. It cannot tell that one product page is missing alt text on half its images, or that a service page has two competing H1s because of how a section was designed. Those problems only show up when you look at the whole site at once.

There is also no single screen that lists every page with its current title, description and heading. SEOAmazing builds that list for you with a crawl, then proposes a fix for each gap.

What you need before you install on Wix

Wix's own instructions say your site must be published and have a connected domain before you add custom code. Wix also requires a Premium plan before you can connect a domain. In practice that means a site still on a free wixsite.com address cannot install the snippet yet.

  • A published Wix site.
  • Your own domain connected to it, which needs a Wix Premium plan.
  • Permission to edit the site's settings.
  • An SEOAmazing account with your domain added, so you have your snippet ready to copy.

How to add SEOAmazing to Wix

These steps follow Wix's help article on embedding custom code. They take about two minutes.

  1. Copy your snippet from the SEOAmazing dashboard.
  2. Open your site's dashboard in Wix and go to Settings.
  3. Under Development & integrations, click Custom Code.
  4. Click + Add Custom Code at the top right.
  5. Paste the snippet into the text box and give it a name you will recognize, such as SEOAmazing.
  6. Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages, then choose to load the code on each new page so it runs on every page a visitor opens.
  7. Under Place Code in, choose Head.
  8. Click Apply. Then return to SEOAmazing and start the crawl.

What SEOAmazing changes on Wix, and what it leaves alone

Every fix arrives in a review queue first. You see the current value, the proposed value (you can edit it), a severity, and a short reason. Nothing changes until you click Approve. Reject anything you disagree with.

Once approved, the snippet applies the change in the visitor's browser. The ruleset is cached at the edge, so an approved fix goes live in about five minutes.

  • Changed on the live page: title tags, meta descriptions, a single clear H1, JSON-LD schema, image alt text and internal-link anchor text.
  • Left alone: your Wix editor, page SEO settings, blog posts, store products and design. SEOAmazing never writes into your Wix account.
  • Reversible: changes are live only while the snippet is installed. Delete the custom code in Wix and your pages show their original values again.
  • Not yet available: writing fixes back into your Wix content. That is on our roadmap.

How Google and AI crawlers see the changes

Google renders JavaScript, so Googlebot can see the changes the snippet applies on your Wix pages.

Many AI crawlers, including GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, do not run JavaScript. They only see the HTML Wix sends. To reach them, SEOAmazing has a prerender service that serves those bots fully rendered HTML with your approved changes applied. It needs bot traffic routed to the prerender with a small edge rule, and the domain enabled on our side. This is set up with our help, not turned on automatically. Wix hosts and serves your site, so whether an edge rule is possible depends on how your domain is set up. Talk to us first.

Until then, fixes still help with Google, and you can see where AI tools mention you with AI Visibility, which checks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity for the questions you pick.

Frequently asked questions

Is SEOAmazing a Wix App Market app?

No. There is no Wix app to install. You add one script tag in Settings > Custom Code, and that is the full setup.

Can I use SEOAmazing on a free Wix site?

Not on a free wixsite.com address. Wix says custom code needs a published site with a connected domain, and connecting a domain requires a Wix Premium plan.

Should the code load once per visit or on each new page?

Choose each new page. The snippet needs to run on every page a visitor opens so each page gets its own approved title, description and schema.

Will SEOAmazing conflict with the Wix SEO settings I already filled in?

Your Wix settings stay as they are. For fixes you approve, the snippet sets the new value on the live page. If you remove the snippet, your original Wix values show again.

Does it work on Wix blog and store pages?

Yes. With the code applied to all pages, it runs on blog posts and product pages too. The crawl finds them from your sitemap and suggests fixes page by page.

How do I remove SEOAmazing from Wix?

Go to Settings > Custom Code and delete the snippet. Your pages go back to their original titles, descriptions and headings right away.
